Chartered accountant Clement Keys is expanding its education
portfolio after securing a major new appointment with the
Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL) - the only
professional association and trade union in Britain to represent
the interests of senior staff at secondary schools and
colleges.
In addition to carrying out the ASCL's annual audit, Clement
Keys will take charge of VAT and provide accounting services,
including advising on the design of monthly reports and management
accounts.
The Clement Keys charities and not-for-profit team has a
particular specialism within the education sector but also advises
many different types of organisations that include registered
charities, Friendly Societies, Industrial and Provident Societies
and social landlords.
"We are delighted to win this work from the ASCL in the face of
stiff competition. It is a high profile appointment and a
very important one for us, as it enhances our credentials within
the education sector," said Clement Keys partner Simon Atkins.
Formerly known as the Secondary Heads Association, the
Association of Schools and College Leaders has 15,000 members which
include head, deputy head and assistant head teachers, bursars and
business managers and college principals and vice-principals.
Commenting on the appointment Carole Baldam, Operations Director
at the ASCL, said: "Clement Keys demonstrated that they understand
the issues affecting not only not-for-profit organisations in
general, but those in education in particular, and that they can
deliver a professional service tailored to our needs. We are very
much looking forward to working with Simon and his team."
