Tickets are now on sale for the inaugural Birmingham Charity
Ball, a fun filled evening that aims to raise funds for three local
charities from across the West Midlands.
The charity extravaganza has been organised by a group of
property and construction firms which include Rider Levett
Bucknall, Aedas, Brooke Smith Planning, Savills and URS/Scott
Wilson, under the banner of Birmingham Unlimited.
Willmott Dixon has already signed up as principal sponsor of the
event that will be held on Friday 23rd September in support of
Focus Birmingham, 1Voice and the Lord's Taverners. It will be
the first event of its kind to be held at the newly refurbished
Edgbaston Cricket Ground.
Proceeds raised will be put towards buying a converted mini bus
for Focus Birmingham which supports people with visual impairments
and other disabilities, new sports equipment for 1Voice which helps
reduce isolation loneliness for children and adults with
communication difficulties and specially adapted sports wheelchairs
for The Lord's Taverners, the official charity of recreational
cricket.
Lance Taylor, chief executive of Rider Levett Bucknall and
chairman of Birmingham Unlimited said: "As well as being
ambassadors for the city on our travels, Birmingham Unlimited is
committed to supporting those people who help make a difference to
others who need a bit of help.
"This year the Birmingham Unlimited group has chosen three
charities and looks forward to giving them a helping hand in the
work that they do as well as giving our guests a night to
remember."
Peter Owen, managing director for Willmott Dixon in the Midlands
said: "We're delighted to be pledging our support to The Birmingham
Charity Ball. As the first to be held at the new Edgbaston Cricket
Ground, for many guests it will be an unmissable opportunity to get
a first look at the state of the art facilities. Moreover, it's a
chance to give back and make a positive contribution to the lives
of those who need it most in our region."
With a number of international celebrity cricketers already
committed to supporting the event, the Ball is set to be one of the
most glamorous evenings of the year. Guests will be able to party
the night away to spectacular seven piece soul and party band,
Felix Leiter, enjoy the roving fiddler and above all, help make a
difference to lives affected by mental and physical disability.
Executive sponsorship packages are available, which include a
brand presence on the menu cards, the Birmingham Unlimited web site
and inclusion in any press releases plus a huge thank you on the
evening and the opportunity to exhibit in the pre-drinks reception
area.
Tickets and executive sponsorship packages are available for
£50 per head or £500 for a table of ten. To purchase
tickets or for further information please contact Kate Eagle on
