One of Birmingham's newest and most exciting eateries will be
representing the City at the, UK and International Restaurant &
Bar Design Awards. The award ceremony will be taking place at
London's swanky Canary Wharf this coming July.
This prestigious award receives thousands of nominations each
year, with over hundreds of nominations from the West Midlands
region alone. Competition is fierce as this nominations process
pitches the independent venues head to head with the hospitality
giants of the world. Out of the entire West Midlands region only
one eatery has made the final - MooBaa. Since its opening last
year, the Suffolk Street based eatery has been a City Centre
hotspot for the Beef and Lamb lovers of Birmingham, hence the name
MooBaa!
The brains' behind this quirky brand and interior is Aman
Bhandal, MooBaa Founder & Director, who also created the Chop
& Wok brand, which also received numerous nominations.
Aman explains: "The idea behind MooBaa was to create an exciting
and unusual brand that provides our customers with a whole new
fast-food experience, which people of all ages can enjoy. The barn
like interior has a rustic, woody edge to it with contemporary
influences. The design has a direct connection with the food menu
and the name MooBaa, "Moo" representing the Cow and "Baa"
representing the Lamb. We're really proud to have made it as
finalists in this category after just 12 months of opening. We will
continue the work we have begun at MooBaa through our other
creations such as Chop & Wok, by adopting the same belief; that
is to offer uniqueness in all sensory experiences."
The UK and International Restaurant & Bar Design Awards is
the only concept of its kind dedicated exclusively to design. The
Awards invites and receives entries from the world's top
architects, designers and hospitality operators. The judges are a
highly influential panel of top design, lifestyle & hospitality
personalities, whose role is to recognize and reward entrants for
design excellence. The winners of the various categories including
the best designed restaurant and the best designed bar, will be
announced at the award ceremony, where our very own 'Brummie Boys'
will be competing against, and rubbing shoulders with some of
Europe's finest, such as Harvey Nichols, Compass Group, Gondola
Group and Café Luc.
