Pupils at an Evesham primary school have been learning all about
building houses and building site safety with the help of staff
from Mansell who are working on a nearby environmentally
sustainable homes project.
The Stourbridge-based Western region of Mansell organised a
design-a-poster competition for pupils at Bengeworth First School
in Burford Road, Evesham. The school is near Philipscote where
Mansell is building 29 timber-framed homes for the Rooftop Housing
Group in partnership with the Homes and Communities Agency and
Wychavon District Council.
The work involves the construction of seven houses, 10 bungalows
for the elderly and 12 flats using sustainable materials from
managed sources.
The youngsters were asked to paint a poster with the theme of
building site safety. The paintings were judged by Ian Smith of
Mansell and David Hannon of Rooftop. Winners were presented with
book tokens donated by Mansell. The winners were Year 5 pupils
Bethany Tomes, Armands Savickis and Page Sandalls.
