The Cube and Birmingham Children's Hospital have come together
to offer a wine tasting evening with a difference and raise money
for a good cause.
The heart healthy fine red wine tasting evening will take place
at The Cube, the visionary new building by world renowned architect
Ken Shuttleworth, in the centre of Birmingham.
Tickets for the event on 7th April are on sale for £20
each with all proceeds going to Birmingham Children's Hospital's
current fundraising priority, the Children's Heart
Appeal.
The Cube has a poignant link to Birmingham Children's Hospital
as one of the five sculptures which were created by Midlands artist
Temper exclusively for The Cube features Ellie-Mae Austen age 8 who
had heart surgery at the hospital.
The sculptures, which are situated throughout The Cube are
dedicated to 'the lovely people' of Birmingham and immortalise a
real person who has proven themselves to be an inspiration to
others and a source of pride to the city.
Laura Clay, an Accredited International Bordeaux Educator,
Accredited Spanish Wine Educator and UK Champagne Ambassador 2010
from Birmingham Imbibers will supply the unusual and heart healthy
red wines for the evening.
Neil Edginton, a director of The Cube said: "This promises to be
a great evening for a fantastic cause. It will also provide a
unique opportunity for people to catch a sneak preview of the
recently completed office space where the event will be held."
The Cube is an iconic development in the centre of Birmingham
and includes state of the art offices, stunning apartments,
opportunities for fine restaurants, waterside café bars and
retail, a boutique hotel and spa, Marco Pierre White's panoramic
rooftop restaurant and a hi-tech automated car park which is the
first of its kind in the UK.
