Staff at a major West Midlands car retail centre were praised
this week for helping their parent company reach the national
finals of a prestigious business awards scheme.
ACF Car Finance in Willenhall, together with other members of
the group, has made it into the last stages of the Credit Today
Awards, regarded as the "Oscars" of the finance industry.
Now team members must wait until next month to discover if their
firm has taken the title of "most responsible lender of the year",
the category in which it has been nominated.
The Willenhall retail showroom, which is headed by acting dealer
principal Peter Walker, provides cars and arranges finance via its
parent company for the growing number of people with impaired
credit records.
In reaching the finals, the company has taken on some of
Britain's best-known names in the finance world - and undergone a
rigorous independent selection procedure.
Judges scrutinised not just the successful track record of the
company, but also its systems to ensure responsible lending to
consumers in the West Midlands and at its six other UK
dealerships.
The winners will be announced at a glittering celebrity-hosted
awards ceremony to be attended by over a thousand guests on May 12
at Grosvenor House in Park Lane, London.
