Veterinary Thermal Imaging (VTI), the UK's only all species
thermal imaging company, is celebrating the launch of its latest
franchise in which will cover Leicestershire, Derbyshire and
Rutland.
Cathryn Last, of Nottingham, has successfully passed through the
rigorous VTI training programme, including a three day course in
Holland, and will be managing her own practice in the area from
April.
VTI offers a visual management tool for diagnosing, monitoring
and treating injury, illness and disease. VTI works under a code of
conduct prescribed by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and
is a valuable extension to diagnostic tools such as X-rays, MRI
scans and Ultrasound. The service is available to vets, other
animal professionals and the owners of horses, dogs, cats,
livestock, zoo and marine species.
Cathryn said, "I am really excited about bringing VTI to this
region. I hope to be working with animal owners and professionals
to get to the root of problems and issues and coming up with
answers in the easiest, most cost effective way. I love
animals, I have a degree in Animal Science, I started horse riding
when I was 9, I've owned 2 ponies and just got a puppy called
Dylan, making this the dream job for me".
She added, "The training was really thorough and involved
classroom lectures, home study and practical hands-on sessions
covering all aspects of veterinary thermography, including animal
handling and preparation, consultations, camera operation, image
manipulation, interpretation and report production. I have my
Certificate in Veterinary Thermal Imaging, the qualification to
practice, and believe VTI is an exciting area to be working in for
both diagnostics and treatment management programmes. As the
knowledge and use of thermography grows amongst owners, vets and
physiotherapists, so too does the demand for well trained,
professional thermographers and we are already finding this in the
Midlands.
