More than 80 professionals from the HR industry and beyond
recently received valuable advice and guidance on employment law
and pension changes from local law firm Lanyon Bowdler, in
association with Wolverhampton based financial advisers Torquil
Clark.
The Employment Law and Pensions Seminars, held across the region
in Hereford, Oswestry, Shifnal and Shrewsbury gave attendees the
chance to hear guidance from Ian Hill, pensions technical manager
from Torquil Clark in respect of the forthcoming compulsory
requirement for employers to contribute to employee pensions. In
addition, John Merry, partner and head of the employment law
department at Lanyon Bowdler focused on the employment law aspects
of pension changes, such as managing salary reviews to achieve
economies to off-set pension costs, and also the impact of pensions
on maternity and paternity rights.

forthcoming compulsory pensions and employment law changes, and
highlight the importance of employers being prepared and aware of
the implications the changes will have.
Due to the ongoing success of Lanyon Bowdler's employment law
seminars, further dates have now been scheduled for September 2011,
which will cover a round up of the latest employment law
developments, together with offering some valuable guidance on the
Bribery Act 2011.
