Evidence that a recovery in the commercial property market is
likely to be led by the small to medium business sector comes with
the purchase of Warwickshire offices by husband and wife business
team Andy Skinner and Angela South.
The newly-weds capped off a busy 2010 by purchasing offices at
Croft Court, Croft Lane in leafy Temple Grafton near Alcester in
Warwickshire.
They have moved their business interests, ASAP PR, Expat
Pensions and Magna Wealth Management into the office complex just
off the A46.
Andy Skinner said: "Given the state of the property market we
reckoned that it was a good time to buy and started looking in
early September 2010. The old cliché that vendor
expectations remain optimistic proved true and it wasn't until we
saw Croft Court in December that we found somewhere that fitted the
bill."
They were introduced to Croft Court by James Ironmonger of
Bigwood Chartered Surveyors & Auctioneers and legal advice was
provided by Mark Lee of Lodders Solicitors, both firms in
Stratford-upon-Avon and both clients of ASAP PR.
The purchase was made possible through a Self Invested Personal
Pension (SIPP) provided by Brooklands Pensions with banking
facilities provided by Brown Shipley Private Banking.
ASAP PR is the long established press relations consultancy set
up by former Business Report owner and editor Andy Skinner which
now includes ex-Birmingham Post business editor John Duckers among
its staff.
It numbers the Institute of Directors West Midlands, Business
Voice West Midlands, a host of professional firms including law
firms, accountants, property agents and developers and some of the
region's best known individuals among its clients.
Expat Pensions was founded by offshore pensions expert Angela
South in 2007 and incorporated as Expat Pension Providers Ltd in
February 2010. The business has seen phenomenal growth in the past
12 months, moving from one full and one part time employee to eight
full and part staff to service its expanding client list.
Expat Pensions advises ex-UK citizens who now live abroad on the
benefits they may find in using Qualifying Recognised Overseas
Pension Schemes (QROPS) and Qualifying Non-UK Pension Schemes
(QNUPS).
The business is regulated by the Financial Services Authority in
the UK and sets very high compliance standards.
Angela South said: "We have built an extensive network of
offices and introducers across Spain, France and Cyprus and have
worked hard to provide our clients with the quality of advice and
reassurance that they would expect if they were seeing us as UK
clients.
"The business has grown dramatically as our reputation for
quality advice has spread, not only through our advertising in the
Mediterranean editions of UK national press but also local radio
and events such as seminars and over 50s exhibitions."
The couple are also launching Magna Wealth Management as their
UK brand following increasing interest from the West Midlands
business and professional community in an independent source of
financial and investment advice.
Angela South said: "Our experience originates in the UK
financial services market and increasingly our friends in the
business and media community are coming to us for advice on issues
ranging from property purchases via a SIPP, which we have just
completed in double quick time for ourselves, pension splitting in
divorce and for an independent appraisal of company pension schemes
- particularly focusing on the onset of NESTs - the National
Employee Savings Trusts - which are coming into operation for
larger companies over the next 20 months to October 2012.
"This is an area we see growing rapidly in 2011 now we have
established Magna Wealth Management as our UK brand."
