The Recruitment division of Positive Outcomes is joining forces
with employment lawyers from the Nottingham office of Midlands law
firm Geldards to give businesses the low down on the Agency Workers
Regulations (AWR) and how they should prepare for their
introduction in October this year.
The free Agency Workers Regulations Seminar takes place at
Positive Outcomes' new offices off Junction 28 of the M1 on
Thursday 12th May 2011.
The company's Recruitment Manager Sam Lawrence, explains: "The
Agency Workers regulations are designed to guarantee temporary
workers provided via recruitment agencies to organisations, the
right to the same equal treatment and terms and conditions as their
permanent counterparts.
"There are an estimated 1.1 million agency workers in the UK and
almost one in four public and private sector employers planning to
increase their use of temporary labour. The Agency Workers
Regulations are likely to affect a significant number of
individuals and businesses, and we consider it is important that
any business using or likely to use temporary workers are given
access to information about the new Regulations, to give them the
best chance of being prepared ahead of their
introduction.
"Our Nottingham-based recruitment team, have joined forces with
employment lawyer Roscoe Fernandes of Geldards, to devise this
update seminar, which will be a practical session that provides an
overview of the main features of the Regulations and sheds some
light on the real affect they will have on businesses.
"The seminar will also provide some suggestions on what
businesses can and should do whilst they have time, to ensure they
are fully prepared for when the Regulations come into force in
October."
