Nottingham based, PBS UK Ltd (Payroll Bureau Services), has
launched a new service division. The company which has continued to
expand through the recession has now established a full Human
Resources Training operation .... and local businesses have already
signed up for the service.
PBS UK Ltd has been offering Human Resources Consultancy
services for over 2 years, mainly driven by existing customer
needs. The business built a division that extended services beyond
that of Payroll into essential HR management requirements that
included recruitment guidance and performance management review
schemes through to advice on employment law and redundancy
counselling.
Now the company will offer tactical HR training for Line
Managers. Managing Director, Pam Pindar, explains: "We were picking
up a feeling of general nervousness from some clients who felt that
their knowledge base of new issues (most born of the recession)
needed addressing. In particular, legislation updates regarding how
to handle discipline and grievance and recruitment and selection
were asked about frequently. Most recently the issue of absence
management has been front of mind.
"Many companies find themselves stifled by constantly changing
UK Employment Law, and struggle to stay up to date with changes and
developments in this area. The consequences for non-compliance can
potentially be financially crippling to any business. It is no
surprise that many companies are looking to ensure that HR staff
are trained effectively."
Kay Collins is HR Manager at Kenray Forming, leaders in the
design and manufacture of forming sets, ancillaries and services to
the packaging industry. Kay was one of the first to sign up to the
new training courses: "I found the course that I attended
practical, informative and to the point. We have 30 employees and
are growing so understanding the practical detail of new employment
practices is really important to us. I was able to use the
information I learnt immediately and am now looking at which Line
Managers in the business would also benefit from the course."
The one-day courses offered will only take a maximum of 8 people
and are designed to be specific to those attending. So far
companies from the legal, manufacturing, finance and IT sectors
have already signed up.
