An Exhibition of African Art is being held at West Midland
Safari Park during the Easter weekend.
'Art out of Africa' is presenting a spectacular exhibition of
'Tingatinga' Art and associated African curios in Tree Tops - the
African themed Pavilion situated between the Animal Reserves and
the Park's Discovery Trail.
Renowned for its vibrant colours and depicting all kinds of
animals and scenes associated with the African culture, these
exciting works of art have been created in Tanzania by a variety of
artists. The art is extremely colourful, bright and full of energy
- it is enormously appealing for all ages and is very unusual to
look at.
The Founder of Art out of Africa, Rahima Rwenza-Kindblom, said
"The income that we have been able to create for the artists has
transformed the lives for themselves and their extended families.
It has been such a joy to see how this unique art form has affected
the UK public; no one can remain indifferent to these paintings
that are so vibrant, full of energy and humour. This is art for
young and old alike, for anyone who wants a little wilderness in
their lives"!
Art Out Of Africa is a newly formed business based in Birmingham
and operates in the spirit of fair-trade. The trading of Tingatinga
art paintings is the only source of income for the extremely
talented team of artists that forms the Tingatinga Arts
Co-operative Society in Tanzania today.
The exhibition will be taking place in Tree Tops Pavilion on
Easter Sunday, 24th April and Bank Holiday Monday, 25th April
2011.
