Bond Wolfe, the West Bromwich-based investment company, is on
the expansion trail via its Eat Fresh Ltd subsidiary - aiming to
create new outlets and employing up to 100 staff.
It announced the push following the launch of its latest
operation, a Subway "eat fresh" at 64 Newhall Street.
"We are actively looking for more restaurant and hospitality
opportunities," said Pawan Kenth of Eat Fresh Ltd.
"We currently have five Subway food businesses in the West
Midlands, Birmingham, two at Merry Hill , Bilston and Edgbaston and
we are looking to increase that to ten by the end of the year, with
two additional sites already identified."
The Newhall Street unit, part of the worldwide sandwich
franchise, is the first regional chain to have been issued with the
new Euro Tuscany 2 décor directive direct from the Subway
group's head office in Milford, Connecticut.
It has allowed the shop to promote a more relaxed, coffee lounge
feel, better suited to its city centre location.
Director Gurpal Showker said: "There is still the choice of
great value, fresh, fantastic-tasting Sub sandwiches, ranging from
low fat to indulgent.
"The takeaway and restaurant has a prime position in the city
centre and we are confident it will do well, as we had queues 100
yards down Newhall Street in the opening week.
"The new contemporary style is very much in keeping with the
location."
Bond Wolfe also has ownership of the UK rights to the award
winning Asha's Restaurant, and operates the restaurant which is
also on Newhall Street, along with the Subway holdings.
Bond Wolfe has been growing its food and leisure offer alongside
its principal property businesses which include REI, Bigwood, Paul
Dubberley & Co and Bond Wolfe Commercial.
Subway recently knocked McDonald's from its perch as the fast
food king, by having more restaurants around the world. By the end
of last year Subway had 33,749 outlets compared with the burger
giant's 33,737, according to industry figures.
