Arms Public House, Wollaston, Stourbridge.
Stourbridge law firm Wall James Chappel recently advised David
and Trudie Evans on their purchase of the Forresters Arms Public
House in Wollaston. Mr & Mrs Evans were advised by Ruth Latham
an Associate in the firm's commercial property department.
Mr Evans has said "taking on the ownership of the historic
Forresters Arms is an exciting new business venture for Trudie and
I. We are looking to build on its reputation for good quality food
and providing a selection of real ales."
The Foresters Arms, which is a member of CAMRA, an association
for real ale pubs, is situated on the Bridgnorth Road on the border
of Wollaston and Stourton and has been used as a public house since
the 1800s.
Mrs Evans said "It is important that the correct advice was
given and that we were fully aware of the liabilities that were
taking on as we purchased the public house as a going concern. One
of the important aspects of the purchase was taking on an existing
Lease. Ruth provided clear advice on the terms of the Lease and in
particular regarding the covenants and obligations that we were
taking on. It is the first time we had purchased a pub and we
wanted to make sure we clearly understood what was expected of us
in order to comply with the provisions of the Lease and to ensure
that we were aware fully of the obligations and liabilities we were
taking on."
