A  multi-media production company that counts national brands among its clients is expanding into a new base in the Midlands.

Corporate film specialist, 7Video, operates throughout the UK but is now launching a broadcast quality production house in Warwickshire.

Originally set up in Shropshire in 2007, the company has seen a huge increase in demand for its  services as companies spot the benefits of using online video to sell products and services.

Although 7Video covers events and has live broadcast capability, a major growth area has been in the number of companies turning to video as an additional route to market.

Coventry-based director, Peter Sims, said 7Video had been carrying out a growing number of  projects in the wider Midlands and Warwickshire area.

He said: "We work all over the country, with both public and private sector organisations, charities, schools and colleges. But as I live in Coventry, it seemed the most natural progression for the company to have a base here and we're delighted to be expanding, growing our services and  hopefully taking on more staff in the near future.

"Since starting the company we have seen a hike in the number of firms demanding good quality video for online use. It's no longer enough in today's competitive marketplace just to put a photograph up on your website.

"About five years ago, videos were created mainly for promotional use, but now the private sector is recognising the benefits of having a video on a website selling for them 24 hours a day, all year round."

Co-director Martyn Harris, a former television news cameraman who's worked with ITN and Reuters, said the experience behind the lens coupled with cutting-edge design technology, including motion graphics capability, had seen the company attract household name clients including Sport England and the National Trust.

Martyn said: "We know from experience that having a multi-media presence on a website brings benefits to companies. This is the YouTube generation and businesses want to tap into that.

"We can film, edit and upload in under 24 hours - our Done in a Day concept has proved extremely popular with busy directors and managers who don't want a project to drag on, taking up large sections of several working days."

A recent contract with a major caravan and leisure retailer saw 7Video, which will be based near Warwick University Technology Park, film all 180 mobile homes in just one week.

"Each stock video was roughly three minutes in length and in total we had nearly 12 hours of footage to edit, master and upload but we love working on projects that are a little out of the ordinary, and we were all finished within seven days of arriving on site."
