Motorsport PR consultancy – Prova – shortlisted for CIPR Excellence Awards

Warwickshire-based Prova has been shortlisted in the automotive category for the PR industry's flagship Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) Excellence Awards. This recognition further strengthens Prova's reputation as a leading motorsport PR consultancy.

Prova's campaign for the 2010 Wales Rally GB - the highlight of which saw 12,000 people attend a free Rallyfest event in the north of Wales - was judged by leading PR professionals to be among the best automotive PR campaigns in the country. Other contenders in the category include campaigns for Citroën, Nissan, Tom Tom, Ford Retail and INRIX.

Following the shortlisting, Prova's Richard Postins commented: "We're delighted our work with Rally GB has been recognised by the CIPR Excellence Awards shortlisting panel. We've worked with Rally GB for a number of years now and the launch of Rallyfest last year was a particularly exciting highlight for the team. We're already gearing up for 2011, having recently announced the route, and we are planning a series of Rallyfest events in the run up to the Wales Rally GB in November."

Andrew Coe, chief executive of Wales Rally GB's organiser, International Motor Sports Limited, added: "The success of the 2010 Rallyfest event was tribute to the hard work of a number of people - all carefully co-ordinated by the team at Prova. From idea to implementation, their handling of the event was outstanding. In fact, 7,000 more people than we'd anticipated attended Rallyfest 2010 in north Wales."

CIPR CEO Jane Wilson commented: "Congratulations to our Excellence finalists this year for their achievement in public relations most demanding awards. They have come through a rigorous judging process to reach this stage. What's more, their outstanding work is testament to the resilience of the profession during these economically challenging times. We look forward to recognising and rewarding the winners at the CIPR Excellence Awards evening."

Shortlisted entrants will now attend an interview in London in May, before winners are announced at the Excellence Awards Dinner on Wednesday, 1 June 2011.
