Lloyds Banking Group is set to sponsor Birmingham Young
Professional of the Year (BYPY) 2011.
As a major employer of graduates in the West Midlands, Lloyds
Banking Group jumped at the chance to support the region's young
professionals.
Bina Ganatra, BYPY committee chairman and relationships manager
for Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets, is pleased that her employer has
decided to back the awards.
"I'm ecstatic that Lloyds Banking Group has chosen to sponsor
BYPY," she said.
"They have supported me throughout my four years on the BYPY
committee so it's great to have them on board as main sponsor
during my year as chairman.
"BYPY is an important event for Birmingham's business community
as it is the only awards ceremony to acknowledge the achievements
of young people across the different professional sectors.
"It's thanks to our sponsors that we're able to continue with
our efforts to find the city's best young professionals year after
year."
David Richardson, managing director Midlands, East and South
West for Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets, said: "People are at the
heart of our business, providing and supporting the great
relationships we have with our customers.
"We are proud to recognise that here, in our Midlands heartland,
we have such a rich pool of promising young professionals who will
prove crucial to the future prosperity of our region."
BYPY also has six category sponsors. Law firm, Lawyers 2 You, is
set to sponsor the Legal category, Cobbetts is sponsoring the
Financial category, Sanguine Hospitality is behind the Property and
Construction category and Fleetmilne Residential is sponsoring the
Communications category. Glide Utilities, whose co-founder James
Villarreal won BYPY last year, is sponsoring the Entrepreneurial
category. Recruitment firm Katie Bard is sponsoring the Inspiring
Leader award.
Birmingham Young Professional of the Year is Birmingham Future's
flagship event and will take place on Thursday 19 May at the ICC.
