Kidderminster-based Roots HR (Human Resources) is celebrating
this week, having beaten off stiff national competition to achieve
preferred supplier status for the Greater Manchester Voluntary
Sector Support (GMVSS) Market Place.
Roots HR's team of four consultants, all of whom live in the
West Midlands, will now work closely with GMVSS Market Place to
design and deliver a range of services to Greater Manchester
voluntary, community and faith groups, including a free training
course for managers, an online HR knowledge test and access to a
library of free factsheets and newsletters designed to provide
advice on the specific challenges facing the voluntary and
community sector.
Roots HR CIC was founded by chartered HR practitioner Jan
Golding two years ago and has grown rapidly generating five jobs in
Kidderminster. It now has over 55 clients across the UK and looks
set to continue to grow, both locally and nationally.
Jan says: "We are absolutely delighted to be awarded preferred
supplier status to GMVSS Market Place and grateful to our existing
clients who provided the testimonials which supported our
application. As a Community Interest Company (CIC) ourselves, we
have a detailed understanding of people management in this sector
and are aiming to be the best provider in the UK to deliver these
services."
Commenting on the choice of Roots HR Morag Rose, Community Hubs
Development Officer at Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary
Organisations, which created the GMVSS Market Place, said: "Our
steering group picked Roots HR CIC for its ethics, approach and the
range and quality of services provided. We are all very excited at
the prospect of creating a partnership that will enable Greater
Manchester voluntary and community organisations to access so much
specialised and relevant people management support for free."
