In an era of Twitter, Facebook and apps, IT experts Acutec still
occasionally like to do it the old-fashioned way.
The West Midlands-based company held an open day for clients at
its Coleshill-based headquarters, which is home to its 20
staff.
It was a chance for clients to meet face-to-face with members of
the Acutec team and also to attend a social media seminar run by
Annmarie Hanlon, of Evonomie.
Chris Roche, managing director of Acutec, said: "IT experts have
a reputation of sometimes not being the most outgoing and
personable people.
"That's not the case here. Communication is key and we like to
meet clients face-to-face at events such as this and also in our
day-to-day dealings with them.
"Of course, as an IT company, we know only too well the benefits
of social media and we probably all wonder where we would be
without email.
"The fact is, however, people like to deal with people and this
was a small way of letting clients know that behind our IT
expertise, we are real human beings!"
He added: "We also have to understand that clients very often
don't want to know the science behind what we do - they just want
to know it works and improves their business.
"If we speak to people in those terms rather than with techie
speak, it makes a real difference to a client.
"It was, therefore, a really worthwhile event."
