As part of its ambitious expansion programme, Thrifty Car and
Van Rental has established its first Derby site within a popular
motor trade area in a deal secured by Innes England.
The industrial premises on Mansfield Road have been let to Scot
Group Limited, trading as Thrifty Car and Van Rental.
This latest location will add to the company's existing 80 plus
sites within the UK including a Midlands refurbishment unit based
in Nuneaton, where the majority of the company's maintenance and
accident repairs are carried out.
Phil Mather, Derby branch manager, said: "From our first day of
trading we have experienced a high level of turnover, which I'm
sure the prominence of the location has helped to achieve.
"We have also been impressed with the amount of space we can use
for our vehicles, which will certainly be a huge help during busy
periods.
The property deal was secured by Tim Richardson, associate
director at Derby office of Innes England, who acted on behalf of a
private landlord in the letting.
He said: "We were delighted to secure such a good quality
occupier and high profile business such as Thrifty Car and Van
Rental, and this highlights the benefits of owning prominently
located buildings with easy access and good external space.
"The premises extend to some 7,662 sq ft of warehouse space with
ancillary office and forecourt parking situated in a prominent
position fronting onto Mansfield Road - an area popular with the
motor trade. Thrifty Car and Van Rental has undertaken various
alterations to the building to adapt it to its use. The enclosed
yard space will be particularly useful, as it is normally difficult
to find.
"A new five-year lease was agreed and all documentation was
completed within a tight timescale at the same time as securing
planning permission."
