Derby residents are set to benefit from free training to help
them gain the skills they need to be more effective and successful
in their community.
The new 'Myskills' resident training programme, delivered by
Derby-based housing provider Derwent Living, will offer a variety
of courses aimed at teaching its residents a number of skills
including problem solving, strategic thinking, measuring change and
a better understanding of value for money.
With unemployment on the increase, Derwent Living also hopes
that Myskills will give its residents the confidence and improved
life skills they need to help them seek employment.
Mitch Allseybrook, resident involvement manager at Derwent
Living, believes that the training will be a great way for
residents to meet new people and learn important skills that will
help them become more effective in their community.
"The Myskills programme is designed to offer our residents the
chance to learn new skills in a relaxed and fun environment." he
said.
"The courses will be delivered by staff with many years'
experience in their chosen discipline and this is a great chance
for residents to explore new areas of understanding and draw on the
expertise of these tutors."
He added: "Places will be on a first-come first-served basis so
we are urging any resident who would like to be involved in the
myskills training programme to get in contact with us as soon as
possible."
Derwent Living residents wishing to take part in any of the
