The doors of the newly refurbished Normanton Inn at the Clumber
Park Hotel & Spa were well and truly flung open last week,
inviting businesses from the region to sample the new gastro-style
menu and have a tipple of CPH Best, the bitter that has been
specially brewed for The Normanton Inn.
As well as welcoming guests to the new bar, they were also
treated to a special visit by Channel 4's The Time Team, and Tony
Robinson, who had been staying at the hotel whilst filming in
nearby Clipstone.
"It has been a hectic time for us getting everything ready for
the opening, but it was received extremely well from clients," says
James Hemming, General Manager of the Clumber Park Hotel & Spa.
"We wanted to create an environment that wasn't like your normal
hotel bar, but welcoming to non-residents who want to drop in for a
bite to eat or a coffee."
The new gastro-style menu features local produce and traditional
dishes with a twist.
"We wanted to be able to offer high quality local food at
reasonable prices, but with a slight deviation from the
traditional," continues James, "giving our diners the ultimate
experience in gastro dining. Our new menu reflects this, offering a
fusion of traditional and modern dishes."
With its thirty thousand pound refurbishment and interior design
by the award winning designer, Katy Plump of Squid Inc, The
Normanton Inn is sure to be a focal point in the region.
"Our launch evening was a success, and it was great to have The
Time Team and Tony Robinson around as well," says Edward Mobbs,
Sales & Marketing Manager of the hotel. "Everyone fondly
remembers Baldrick, and there is also the link to Sherwood Forest
when he wrote and starred in Maid Marian and her Merry Men, so for
us the timing could not have been better!"
