Solihull Chamber has adopted Marie Curie Cancer Care's hospice
funding appeal as its charity for the coming year.
The charity is attempting to raise £7m in two years to
build the new 24-bed hospice, in Marsh Lane, Solihull.
Patron of the appeal is immediate past Chamber president Paul
Thandi, who said: "I am delighted that the Chamber has adopted this
charity for next year - I am constantly struck by what an
extraordinary bunch of people Marie Curie nurses are, caring for
people who are most in need.
"Sadly, many of us will experience - or know someone who will
need - their care at some point in our lives. I urge everyone to
dig deep to support this important cause."
Last year, the Chamber supported the Royal Centre for Defence
Medicine at Selly Oak Hospital. This is a patient welfare fund for
wounded service men and women.
The Chamber has raised more than £800 for the charity
during the past 12 months.
