Midlands based law firm, Talbots Solicitors, were supported by
TV and radio personality Gary Newbon as they raised over
£7,000 for a local charity recently.
Based in Worcestershire, Staffordshire and West Midlands,
Talbots Solicitors held a charity lunch at Brockencote Hall, the AA
3 Red Stars and former Small Hotel of the Year in Chaddersley
Corbett. Together with a host of local business leaders, Talbots'
Senior Partner Matyn Morgan was joined by Gary Newbon and Chris
Westwood of the Chris Westwood Charity for Children with Physical
Disabilities.
Journalist Gary Newbon is known for his work on ITV, talkSPORT
and Sky Sports and has covered events including the UEFA Champions
League games and Central News at Six.
"I am thrilled and hugely honoured to be invited to support
Talbots' fund raising efforts" said Gary. "The charity is one of
those local ones that often go unhealded but they do geat work by
helping improve the quality of life of children and young people in
Stourbridge and the surrounding areas with physical
disabilities."
Martyn Morgan is a co-Trustee of the charity and is pleased
Talbots is able to assist with fund rasing efforts. "Gary was very
entertaining, reminding us of his spats with the likes of Brian
Clough, Sir Alex Ferguson and Chris Eubank" Martyn commented. "We
had fewer attendees this year, reflective of the economic climate
perhaps, but we were overwhelmed by the generosity of our guests
who helped raise over £7,000 - an increase on last year".
Founder and Charity Chairman, Chris Westwood, commented "We run
the charity with zero expense, and every penny raised will go to
deserving children. We have already seen an increase in the number
of applications for grants during the first quarter and the funds
will prove essential in meeting these increasing demands".
