An award winning Staffordshire Indian restaurant has named two
curry dishes after Prince William and Kate Middleton to celebrate
The Royal Wedding.
Patriotic customers can now visit the Dilshad restaurant in
Chadsmoor and enjoy Prince William's Pathia or Kate's Korma
to mark the impending marriage of Prince William and Kate
Middleton.
Customers who visit the Cannock Road restaurant and
purchase either a Prince William's Pathia or Kate's Korma
will then be offered a free dessert of their choice.
The special offer will run until the big day on April 29 when
the couple tie the knot at Westminster Abbey.
Kate's Korma is a mild sweet dish which is sure to be a hit with
the ladies while the Prince William's Pathia is a hotter curry with
a sweet and sour taste and should prove to be a winner with the
men.
Tony Uddin, owner of the Dilshad, is also urging customers to
celebrate the big day by booking a table on April 29 and turning
the restaurant into a Royal Wedding fuelled party atmosphere.
Tony said: "We really wanted to do something to celebrate the
big occasion. There hasn't been a Royal Wedding on such a grand
scale since the marriage of Prince Charles to Lady Diana Spencer
back in 1981 so we thought we would do something to celebrate it
here at the Dilshad.
"We decided to name two curries after Prince William and Kate
Middleton and anyone who comes along to purchase either a Prince
William's Pathia or Kate's Korma will receive a free dessert.
"It is a big occasion and we really want to do our part to help
celebrate the big day and invite customers to join in the
celebrations with us. The offer will be running up until the Royal
Wedding on April 29. People could even book a table at the
restaurant on the day, bring in their Union Jacks and flags and
come and celebrate the event at the Dilshad."
The Dilshad is the most established restaurant in the Cannock
area having been open for more than 30 years.
Since its opening in 1979 the Dilshad has won a clutch of
trophies for its excellent food and service.
This includes winning the Midlands Curry Cup back in 2008 after
the restaurant impressed the Midlands Balti Association with its
choice of spices and presentation methods.
And last year Dilshad chef Babul Miah was named Chef Of The Year
in the Midlands Curry Awards beating chefs from over 50 restaurants
in Staffordshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and
Leicestershire.
