Asha's, Birmingham's top Indian restaurant, has received yet
another honour.
It was named the "Most Diverse Company" by Women of Cultures at
the British Asian Hafta Awards.
The venue successfully demonstrated a robust diversity policy
meeting both the needs of employees and customers.
The Awards, held at a prestige dinner at the International
Convention Centre, celebrate the success and contribution of the
Asian community to Britain.
The category was sponsored by Birmingham City Council and the
presentation was made by Cllr Alan Rudge and Brigadier Mark
Banham.
Asha Bhosle, founder of Asha's, was instrumental in the
formation of Women of Cultures, hosting a first lunch for 20 ladies
in 2006. The organisation has since gone from strength to strength,
working to empower women from all communities.
Only recently Asha's was named leading venue in the West
Midlands by a best restaurant guide.
It featured in the Top 100 in the country - based on the
verdicts of half a million diners booking via Toptable.com.
Jaimon George, general manager, said: "It is fantastic that
Asha's continues to be rated so highly.
"These awards do not come by accident, and I pay tribute to the
owners and all my staff for their support. We do our best to offer
the best and customers seem to appreciate this."
Asha's has sister restaurants across the Middle East.
Old friends, financier Paul Bassi and Pawan Kenth, managing
director of Corporatewear UK, hold the UK franchise rights.
