Signmaker and engraver Allen Signs is helping to launch a new
superbike team which will compete in the Rapid Solicitors Ducati
848 Challenge 2011.
This year's 848 Challenge, which will be showcased at the London
Motorcycle Show in July 2011, joins the British Superbike
Championship as an official support series for the first time.
As well as developing the branding and graphics for Ultimate
Retail Solutions Racing, Allen Sign's Operations Manager Lee Wilson
will be on the team along with his brother Steven and rider Mark
Andrews.
"It will be fantastic to see the bike, which has been designed
and painted by Allen Signs' specialist vehicle livery team, in
action on some of the most iconic circuits in the UK and Europe,"
said Lee.
"It's the first time a team from Lincolnshire has competed in
the 848 Challenge which this year has the added attraction of
racing in front of huge enthusiastic crowds and high-profile
television coverage."
The 848 Challenge will be contested over eight rounds and 16
races, taking in five British Superbike rounds, a further round at
Castle Combe and two overseas rounds at Assen in the Netherlands
and Monza in Italy.
Lee's fellow team member and Managing Director of Ultimate
Retail Solutions Steven Wilson said he's looking forward to what
should be an exciting and high-profile series.
"The team at Allen Signs has done a fantastic job of making us
look the part and now we just need to earn our stripes on the
international racing circuit!" he said.
"Mark will be flying the flag for Lincolnshire and competing
against some very experienced riders, including last year's winner
Darren Fry, but he's very talented and we're confident he will do
well.
"Ultimate Retail Solutions is proud to be sponsoring the
home-grown team and working with David and Lee from Allen Signs to
ensure our first venture into superbike racing is a success."
The competition gets under way at Brands Hatch on the 23rd, 24th
and 25th April and series ambassador and four times World Superbike
Champion Carl Fogarty will be on hand to calm early season nerves,
pass on commiserations and congratulations and present trophies to
the winners.
The winner of the championship will collect a brand new Ducati
848 EVO in the stunning Dark Stealth livery as well as a two-day
course at the California Superbike School.
Other prizes include a Bianchi race bicycle, Ducati Performance
vouchers and prize tyres for podium finishes at every round.
