An all-new approach to maximising staff development and retention through employee engagement and performance is to be unveiled to East Midlands businesses at a series of free showcase events in May.

National training organisation Positive Outcomes has launched an all-new portfolio of commercial training for business, and is hosting its Showcase events on the 23rd and 26th of May 2011 at its new head office off J28 of the M1 to introduce its fresh approach to commercial training to businesses in the East Midlands.

Already an established and successful provider of government-funded training throughout the UK, and ranked in the Top 10 of independent providers, Positive Outcomes sees the creation of a commercial training portfolio, a timely and relevant solution for businesses looking for sustainability, as the company's Head of Training, Development & Quality, Martin Wright explains:

"For ambitious organisations that are striving for sustainable growth, relevant, quality employee learning can make all the difference, and our fresh portfolio of commercial training has been developed to support this strategy.

"According to the findings of the most recent HR Survey* by the CIPD, this year 65 percent of senior HR professionals are focussed on growing the business and 54 percent on customer needs. The survey also finds that 41 percent of HR professionals see employee engagement as a priority.

"In response, we have invested significant time and created a dedicated team of specialists, to research the current commercial training market to identify how we can add a new dimension to commercial employee training with a new and robust training portfolio. The result is a suite of commercial training courses that have been built around current business needs, and carefully developed to reflect the demands of businesses today.  Our commercial training portfolio incorporates a comprehensive suite of Management and Leadership, Business Skills and Compliance courses and training packages."

Businesses and staff can tailor training to match day-to-day operational needs: "Staff can select from a range of 'bite size' training sessions for example, opting for either a half or full day commercial course, with no more than ten people in each course. They can select the most convenient training pathway for the business and its employees," explains Martin, "with either group or one-to-one training delivered at the work place, off site, or at our purpose-built offices located off Junction 28 of the M1.

"We recognise that a commitment of resource, time and finances in staff training and development has to see a rapid and real return on this investment. Our team of trainers are focussed on delivering training in a pragmatic and interactive style, so that all learners leave each session with the knowledge, skills and tools to apply what they have learnt immediately, to add value to the business."

Positive Outcomes' MD Chris Longmate adds: "We have been delivering training since1996 and in the last three years have grown to be a national provider. We operate across the UK and employ more than 150 full time staff including a team of over eighty dedicated training and learning advisors.

"The creation of an all-new fresh approach to commercial training is a natural development of our training offering, so that we can make our expertise, credentials, innovative methods and tailored training for learners and businesses, available to a wider group of organisations and employees.

"By building on our core areas of expertise, we offer learning initiatives via a suitable learning pathway platform, for management and leadership, business skills and business compliance, which are aligned to the operational activities of individual businesses, with personal attention given to each learner."

He adds: "We have created a new team dedicated to the development and delivery of our commercial training portfolio. Led by Martin Wright, Head of Training, Development & Quality and an accomplished employee learning and development specialist, he is supported by Samantha Turnbull, Learning & Development Manager, Simon George, Learning & Development Specialist, Diane Denny, Commercial Sales Manager and Commercial Sales Officer Lee Speed."
