Friday night saw the return of the annual Leicester Business
Awards who, we are pleased to announce, have awarded David Hayle,
Managing Director of the PJD Group Ltd the 2011 Entrepreneur of the
Year Award. David was delighted to emerge triumphant against such a
high standard of competition. David commented "The award is not
only a recognition of my achievements over the recent years but
those of my team and colleagues, who have helped to polish the
company from a rough cut stone into a true diamond."
Leicestershire's 18th Business Awards celebrates the
achievements of businesses throughout the county, promoting the
talent that makes this county the business capital of the East
Midlands. The Awards are the recognised stamp of business
excellence and success in the region. David's recognition comes
after the last 5 years hard work and determination to turn a small
mechanical engineering company into the successful, strong business
it is today with a staff of approx. 150 and a turnover of
£35million.
Changing the shape of any business can be a challenge but the
significant changes in the energy industry coupled with the recent
economic situation meant that when David Hayle joined PJD in 2006,
his battle to bring the company in line with its competitors was a
tough one. However this has not impeded the fast paced progress
that has seen the company strengthen its reputation within the
industry and with its ever growing client base.
PJD is one of the leading mechanical engineering businesses in
the country, employing the very best engineers to enable its
customers to build, repair, maintain and decommission high pressure
heat and power generation plants as effectively as possible. This
award is a tribute to what David has been able to achieve in what
would be considered a relatively short space of time. Nick
Evans Head of Business Development at PJD, who nominated David
Hayle for the award, says "The award I'm sure will be one of many
as this company expands over the next coming years, and with David
at the helm, PJD is very much 'one to watch'".
