A taste of Asia comes to Coventry

A taste of Asia is coming to Coventry as the city gears up to host a wedding fayre with a difference.

The Coventry Sports Foundation-managed Alan Higgs Centre on Allard Way is set to host a special Asian-themed wedding fayre on Saturday, April 30.

The free event will run between midday and 3pm with suppliers of a wide range of services in attendance on the day.

Experts in Asian fashion, specialist wedding photographers, make-up and hair stylists will all be showcasing what they have to offer during the fayre. Visitors can also seek advice on wedding invitations, transport, henna art, floral decoration, jewellery and catering.

The event will also give future brides and grooms the chance to learn more about the facilities and function rooms on offer at all three of the Coventry Sports Foundation-managed sites which, in addition to the Alan Higgs Centre, also include the Xcel Leisure Centre in Canley and Centre AT7 in Bell Green Road.

Mark Cooke, events and hospitality manager for Coventry Sports Foundation, said: "We are receiving an ever-increasing number of bookings for Asian weddings and receptions across our three centres so hosting an event of this nature seemed to make perfect sense.

"This will be a fantastic opportunity for anyone planning to give their big day an Asian twist to come along and sample the very best the region has to offer in terms of Asian wedding services."
