West Midlands businesses are going to be given a unique insight
into trading with one of the world's largest economies.
The Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, with UK Trade
& Investment (UKTI), is holding an event at its Oak Tree Court
HQ in Binley from 10.30am until 2pm on Tuesday, March 8, to help
firms in the region trade with Canada.
Gilda Carbone from the British Consulate in Toronto will be
speaking to firms about the opportunities available while
representatives from the Canadian High Commission in London will
also be presenting.
Anthony Andrews, from WM Business Futures, will discuss access
to finance for international trade. There will also be one-to-one
sessions available with visiting market specialists and
international trade advisers.
Alan Durham, international trade director of the Coventry and
Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce, said: "Canada is one of the top
ten economies in the world and this is a great opportunity for
companies in the region.
"It has seen growth in many areas including ICT, medical,
renewable energy and business and professional services. The UK is
Canada's primary European trading partner so it is a market that
businesses here should be looking to tap into.
"This event should be a great starting point."
