West Midlands aerospace companies are being invited to take
advantage of an exciting opportunity to meet key players in the
growing market of Naples.
UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) in the West Midlands is
organising a market visit to the city, which is Italy's leading hub
for the aerospace sector, from 6-8 June. The closing date for
applications is 15 April.
The event is aimed at companies supplying composite materials,
factory equipment, tooling and software, as well as electronic,
mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems for aircraft moving
parts.
It will include visits to the main aerospace businesses in the
area and one-to-one introductions to potential clients.
The aerospace sector in the Campania region accounts for nearly
25 per cent of the country's industry, with a turnover of almost
two thousand million euros.
It has developed greatly over recent years thanks to
international successes achieved by Finmeccanica, especially its
collaboration with global giants Boeing and Airbus in the
manufacture of commercial aircraft, which has led to the rise of a
large network of small and medium-sized firms in the supply
chain.
UKTI's international cluster co-ordinator for aerospace in the
West Midlands, Matt Clive, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity
for companies to make high level contacts in this highly lucrative
manufacturing and supply hub.
"We have been able to secure these introductions as a result of
the success of the Aerospace Opportunities Meet the Buyer event at
Delcam earlier this month.
"One of UKTI's commercial officers from the British Consulate in
Naples attended the event and was so impressed with the quality of
the companies that she offered to facilitate these meetings.
"We are also providing financial support to help eligible
companies with the travel costs and we will be on hand throughout
the visit to support them."
