Muddy Boots Software, leaders in traceability and quality
assurance software solutions for sustainable food and farming,
officially opened its new purpose built premises in Phocle Green
Business Park, Ross-on-Wye, on Friday 25th March 2011; nearly 19
years to the exact day that the first office opened in 1992.
The evening brought together more than 150 local Councillors,
suppliers, customers, friends and family to celebrate the opening
of the new office, which was designed and built to support the
demands of the growing business.
Addressing issues around what is grown, where, by whom and how
are key drivers for retailers and brand holders who wish to have
greater visibility and transparency of their supply chain. This
allows them to manage risk, understand the impact their sourcing
policies have, maintain brand reputation and secure long term
sources of supply. This, coupled with a boom in ethical consumerism
and a move toward sustainable food production, gives Muddy Boots an
exciting pipeline of opportunity with an impressive portfolio of
blue chip companies, including Unilever, Marks and Spencer and Ben
and Jerry's.
With a headcount approaching 40 employees operating out of the
head office in Ross-on-Wye and a growth set at 25%, space had
become a problem.
"We had a strong desire to remain local and with very little
quality space available in the area, we embarked upon this project
to design and build facilities that would serve the needs of our
business now and in the future," said Jonathan Evans, Managing
Director at Muddy Boots Software.
"We believe a stimulating workplace environment is key in
recruiting and retaining quality people and the open plan design
encourages improved communication and reinforces the concept of a
strong team unit.
"We use our rural position as a key business asset, not only for
recruitment and retention but increasingly a place to entertain our
customers who are left with a strong image and sense of identity
around our business values of quality, trust and community.
"This £1million investment demonstrates our strong
commitment to grow, invest in new people and support our local
rural economy," concludes Evans.
