A Warwickshire software company is in good health after launching its US operation.

Rivo Software - based at the University of Warwick Science Park's Warwick Innovation Centre - provides large scale risk management and compliance software.

Rivo's products are used by high-profile organisations in 66 countries across the globe in the oil and gas, pharmaceutical, transportation and heavy construction sectors, amongst others.

This software allows companies to make informed decisions based on risk assessment, auditing and the efficient documentation and analysis of environmental, quality, security and health and safety incidents.

And following continued growth and greater demand for the six-year-old company's Safeguard software platform, the firm has opened a New York office to develop its presence within the North American market - as well as expanding its space at Warwick to cater for more staff.

To start with, the New York office will house four staff and work alongside the 40-strong Warwick office - as well a small satellite office in Zurich which supplies sales support.

But Rivo's CEO, Simon Hook, is confident that the new office will soon be experiencing similar growth.

He said: "We already cater to clients in the US and across the world but being based in the UK ourselves we predominantly deal with UK-based, global organisations.

"We believe that by opening this additional office we will be in a position to create a similar presence within the North American market.

"Initially there will be a small number of staff based at the New York office but we are fully committed to this operation and I see no reason why it cannot grow to be at least the same size as the Warwick office in the next couple of years.

"The operation is up and running, has made a very strong start and is already doing business with firms in America."

The University of Warwick Science Park's Warwick Innovation Centre is home to a range of firms which have developed to the point of opening additional offices.

And centre manager Karen Aston is delighted to see Rivo's continuing success.

She said: "Rivo have been with us for a number of years now so it is nice to see them growing at such a rate.

"Here at the Science Park we have a great deal of experience dealing with companies who have been in the position to open additional offices overseas so we will be able to offer Simon and his team all the support they need.

"As well as being great news for Rivo this is really positive from the Science Park's point of view as it is another success story to add to an ever-growing list."
