De Montfort University (DMU) has expanded its Innovation Centre
to meet increasing demand from small businesses that are setting up
despite the tough economic climate.
DMU's Innovation Centre - a dedicated business hub for start-ups
and entrepreneurs - has undergone a facelift and launched two brand
new services: a 'Virtual Tenancy' package for start-ups who want a
more flexible workspace for their business, and meeting and
training room space for hire for up to 24 people.
The Virtual Tenancy provides access and support for start-ups
who are not yet ready to commit to leasing physical workspace. The
package enables them to use professional meeting room space, have
professional reception staff to receive and direct their calls, and
access free business workshops and seminars designed to provide
support for new and emerging businesses.
Located on Oxford Street in Leicester's city centre, the
Innovation Centre has been providing a range of cost-effective
services for talented and creative start-ups for more than 10
years, including serviced workspace accommodation and expert
business advice.
Start-ups typically spend around three years at the Innovation
Centre before moving on to bigger premises as they grow. Many of
the businesses located in the workspaces have been set up by DMU
graduates.
Clients based at the Innovation Centre can access De Montfort
University's vast knowledge and expertise from each of its
faculties, and additional business support is delivered through the
university's links with partners such as the Leicestershire Chamber
of Commerce, now based on campus.
Whether it is for workspace or meeting space, business
development or specialist support, the Innovation Centre is ideally
located for Leicestershire's new and growing businesses.
