Regeneration specialist St. Modwen is toasting the success of
one of its Longbridge Technology Park tenants after Zybert
Computing scooped a prestigious award.
Based out of the Park's Innovation Centre - which is owned and
managed by St. Modwen - data security specialist Zybert Computing
collected the top prize in their category for Midlands Innovation
of the Year at the Midlands Business Awards 2011.
Zybert was handed the prestigious prize for their Secure
Portable Office Key (SPOK) security solution, which provides secure
remote IT connection removing the need to use USB keys or hard
drives to transfer data.
Andrea Bolton, Innovation Centre Manager at Longbridge
Technology Park, said: "We are extremely pleased for the team at
Zybert. This is a richly deserved award and I hope that through
their relationship with the Innovation Centre, they can continue to
develop new products, collect further accolades, and really fulfil
their potential as a business.
"The Innovation Centre is currently at around 90 per cent
occupancy, with around 40 different companies in the building.
However, with the recent opening of Two Devon Way adjacent to the
existing spaces, we have been able to move some of our tenants over
to the new building, providing them with further room to develop
and grow while still remaining on the site."
Zybert's solution uses high performance encryption and
authentication to enable employees to access a network remotely
ensuring that the data never leaves the office network.
Michael Lucas, Sales Director of Zybert Computing, said: "There
are often stories in the press of occasions when laptops or memory
sticks containing sensitive information are lost or stolen. Our
system completely removes this risk, by allowing remote IT users to
securely access their office systems directly from anywhere, using
a fast encrypted connection that is compliant with the Data
Protection Act.
"We are truly thrilled at having been recognised for our work.
The team at the Innovation Centre has offered us a really
professional service and has been a great help in assisting us
through our busy schedule. Our location at Longbridge is ideal,
putting us within easy reach of road and rail connections that
makes face-to-face contact with our customers a breeze."
Situated off the A38 Bristol Road South, the Innovation Centre
and recently-completed Two Devon Way form the first phase of the
£100 million Longbridge Technology Park, which has been
designed specifically to attract a nucleus of high technology
businesses to Longbridge.
Longbridge Technology Park forms part of the £1 billion
regeneration of Longbridge, which will transform the 400 acre site
of the former MG Rover works into a sustainable community, creating
around 10,000 new jobs and up to 2,000 new homes.
The area is served by excellent public transport links, with
Longbridge Train Station within short walking distance. Birmingham
city centre is eight miles away and the M5 (junction 4) and M42
(junction 2) motorways are three miles away.
