National building contractor Speller Metcalfe has been appointed
by the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham to undertake their
forthcoming £3 million restoration project to refurbish the
Victorian building's auditorium, front of house and existing bars
and toilet facilities.
Andy Metcalfe, commenting on being awarded the contract stated:
"We are absolutely thrilled to be awarded the Everyman contract.
With the project being managed from our Gloucester office we know
the area well, and have a natural interest in the project's
ultimate success."
Based locally, the Everyman will benefit in terms of a local
contact point, facilitating both communication and rapid response
to any given change in direction or works schedule.
Stated, Andy Metcalfe: "The Everyman project will involve a
great deal of specialist works including fibrous plaster work,
specialist decoration and art restoration, and specialist finishes
as well as the need for technical installations covering lighting
and sound works. It's an amazing project and one we are delighted
to be involved in."
Speller Metcalfe undertake a range of construction,
refurbishment and design and build works at local, regional and
national level, with Speller Metcalfe Ecobuild providing extended
expertise in the design and build of sustainable buildings; gaining
ground and an enviable reputation in the arena of zero carbon
construction (code level 6).
The Everyman Theatre's chief executive, Geoffrey Rowe, said:
