The corporate team of the Birmingham office of Shakespeare
Putsman has advised on the sale of Worcestershire manufacturer
Uniline Safety Systems to Capital Safety Group, the global leader
in the design and manufacture of height safety and fall protection
equipment.
The deal represents the largest value transaction for
Shakespeare Putsman's corporate team so far this year.
Capital Safety Group is one of the world's leading fall
protection systems suppliers and Uniline Safety Systems will play a
key rule in the future development and support of Capital Safety
Group's combined fall protection and engineered systems, according
to the company.
Uniline Safety Systems offers a variety of products and services
catering to the fall protection market and operates through
specialist safety companies in over 25 countries, with key
customers in the Wind Energy, Utilities, Marine and Roof Top
sectors.
Founded in 2000, Uniline has 38 employees and operates out of
Redditch, Worcestershire, with additional offices in Australia.
Shakespeare Putsman's team was led by corporate Partner Keith
Spedding, who says: "Uniline Safety Systems has been a longstanding
client of the firm. Our Intellectual Property team has worked
with them on a number of instructions.
"The company has built a substantial reputation around the world
for delivering excellence in the design, manufacture and sale of
engineered fall protection systems and the deal allows Uniline to
move on to the next stage in its development."
He adds: "Already in 2011, we have seen a marked upturn in
corporate activity generally, locally, regionally and nationally,
and this deal is an excellent example of this, as well as
representing the largest value corporate transaction for the firm
so far this year."
CEO and principle shareholder in Uniline, Simon Luke, adds:
"Uniline was very excited to have the opportunity to join the
market leader in our industry and due to our long standing
relationship with SP they were the first choice for us when looking
for an advisor. The deal has naturally had some complexities and
the SP Team did an excellent job of guiding us through the process
with maximum support and minimum fuss, ensuring our completion
deadlines were achieved."
Alongside Keith Spedding, the team from Shakespeare Putsman
advising on the deal included Adam Percival, Associate in the
corporate team, Employment Partner Lorraine Teague, and
Intellectual Property Partner Nick Briggs.
