Fifty-six people took part in a charity Abseil organised by
Savills Birmingham office last Friday 4 March 2011. The team, made
up of Savills staff, clients from Taylor Wimpey and Barratts, and
fellow agents from Colliers, Knight Frank, Jones Lang LaSalle and
Harris Lamb all descended Birmingham's 28 storey (328 feet)
building - the tallest in the city.
Participants, who dressed up as various superheroes, were met
with strong winds and freezing temperatures as they made their way
down the building at an average of 10 minutes per person. Paul
Rouse and Jonothan Holmes, both directors at Savills, chose to go
head first and made it down at a harrowing free fall speed of less
then five minutes each.
Organised in aid of the Princes Trust, the event has already
raised over £5,000 with donations still coming in. Savills
has raised a total of £10,000 for the charity this year
through various events.
Emma Warom, associate at Savills, comments: "We were very
pleased with the turnout and money raised for the Princess Trust.
Though the weather conditions were not perfect they added to the
thrill and everyone remained in good sprits."
