Lakeside Nursery in Erdington embraced the spirit of Comic
Relief by hosting a pyjama party for youngsters and staff on
Friday, with all proceeds going to charity.
But there was little danger of the tots nodding off in their
nightwear, with home-baked cakes, hot chocolate, cookies and, of
course, red noses all adding to the fun on the day.
The event was held at Lakeside Children's and Family Learning
Centre, in Wyrley Birch - run by social enterprise Enta - and the
pyjama idea was been selected to fit in with this year's 'Do
Something Funny for Money' Comic Relief theme.
All the participants paid for the privilege of dressing up and
more than £100 was raised from the event for Comic
Relief.
Natalie Cox, nursery manager at the Lakes Road centre said:
"Comic Relief is always a fun event and we wanted to celebrate it
in style. But it wasn't just for the children, all the Enta staff
were involved too so it was really enjoyable.
"It's also important to remember the serious side to Comic
Relief and it was good to raise so much money to help this year's
total."
The Lakeside nursery is run by Enta CIC, a Birmingham based
social enterprise that provides real life chances for local people
and transforms communities.
