King Sturge's planning team in Birmingham is adding to its
offering with the appointment of Nigel Simkin as senior planning
and development surveyor.
Having joined from GVA, Nigel's role will be to grow the
development viability aspect of the team, which is an increasingly
important area of analysis required to underpin emerging planning
policy from local authorities and master planning.
Nigel brings a wealth of experience across the planning ,
development and regeneration sectors and as Peter Leaver, planning
partner says, "He will add significant value to the team by
assessing the viability of proposals presented to clients to ensure
that land value and profit returns are deliverable, whilst
ensuring that the wider benefits of regeneration are
maximised."
Nigel will also work closely with other teams within King
Sturge, particularly development and complement its expertise in
joint ventures and local Asset Backed Vehicles.
Peter added, "This will be a key advantage to clients as they
focus towards the delivery of projects and master plans in what
continues to be a challenging environment due to the imminent
changes to the planning system, subdued market confidence and the
limited availability of development finance/funding from both
public and private sectors".
