Interested in keeping your business accounts up-to-date while
you are on the move? There's an app for that.
That was the message from Midlands-based accountants and
financial experts Harrison Beale and Owen as they held a seminar to
demonstrate state-of-the-art online accountancy software to their
clients.
The firm, which has offices in Leamington and Coventry, held a
special seminar to demonstrate IRIS OpenBooks - a web-based
programme aimed to help owner-managed businesses maintain and keep
track of its accounts - and it proved such a hit that everybody who
attended signed up to use the product.
The software allows business owners to keep track of their
accounts in a more efficient way and even allows them to update and
record things such as travel expenses instantly from their
iPhone.
Andy Cartwright, senior manager at HB&O, demonstrated the
software to around 10 clients at the firm's Leamington offices in
Highdown House.
He said: "Online accounting is considered to be the way the
industry is heading because it enables businesses to keep a
constant eye on their company's financial position without having
to install costly and bulky software.
"The demonstration proved extremely popular with all who
attended and we will be looking to encourage others to use this
product.
"It makes information sharing and book keeping a great deal more
efficient and allows business owners to save a great deal of time,
which they could be spending growing their business."
The secure system will also allow HB&O account managers to
access client's IRIS OpenBooks account which provides the very
latest figures and allows the firm to be much more pro-active in
assisting and answering financial queries.
Gary Carter, who runs Harrogate-based Black Mountain Associates
Limited, said: "IRIS Open books has been very useful.
"It allows me and my HB&O accountant to see my accounts at
the same time and discuss transactions over the telephone.
"This negates keeping duplicates of the information and gives
the accountant the basis to manage and prepare the accounts
quickly."
