Over 90 diners have sampled the new spring mouthwatering menu at
a restaurant near Coventry.
Regular guests and corporate clients were invited to two tasting
sessions at the Quicken Tree Restaurant at the Heart of England
Conference and Events Centre in Meriden Road, Fillongley.
Sample dishes of starters, main courses and desserts were served
in the restaurant free of charge at the showcase event.
Retired couple Roger and Joan Marston from Nuneaton, who have
been dining at the Quicken Tree Restaurant for the last four years,
said it was a great idea to ask guests to help choose the menu.
"We both liked the duck salad which was one of the starters we
tried and I liked the peppered lamb rump for the main course," Joan
said.
"We shall be coming back later this month to sample the full
menu and we love it here in the summer when we can sit and have a
drink on the veranda looking out over the countryside before we
come inside to eat and I love the star lights on the roof of the
restaurant."
Peter and Elaine Groom, who live in Nuneaton, said they had
eaten at the Quicken Tree for special birthdays and for Sunday
lunch.
Peter said: "We tried mini dishes of all three starters and main
courses on the sample menu and they were all very good.
"We always find the serving staff very friendly and it is
important to have good service as well as good food."
Melanie Kerkeni, sales and business development manager, said
the concept of the tasting sessions and the cuisine had received
rave reviews.
"We change our menu on a regular basis and we thought we would
invite people who have eaten here before to be restaurant critics
to help choose the new selection of dishes," she said.
"We were really pleased with the positive feedback of the
sessions and the new menu is now available."
