National supply chain specialist Nightfreight is reinforcing its
sector expertise in the building trade after successfully
showcasing its low carbon initiatives at Ecobuild 2011.
Nightfreight introduced hundreds of visitors to the
environmental and cost saving benefits of its latest telematics and
intelligent routing technology during the three-day show at ExCel,
London.
The third party logistics provider guaranteed a reduction in
fuel consumption, lower mileage and a smarter delivery solution
overall thanks to its advanced in-cab technology, which monitors
driving behaviour and enables the driver to work smarter.
Cementing its success, the company also highlighted the low
carbon advantages of consolidating individual deliveries onto one
single vehicle rather than operating individual dedicated delivery
vehicles.
Steve Yates, Nightfreight regional director says the company is
well equipped to cope with large and difficult to handle
products.
He said: "Nightfreight is at the forefront of the logistics
industry in identifying new and innovative ways to reduce the
environmental impact of our carbon footprint under our nationwide
infrastructure.
"Our customers already rely on us to provide them with the most
cost effective delivery solutions to suit their requirements, and
now they can expect us to go one step further in reducing the
environmental impact of their deliveries.
"As the only logistics company to exhibit at Ecobuild, it
provided us with the unique platform we required to launch our
ongoing commitment to the future development of greener delivery
solutions."
Nightfreight delivers a wide range of building products on
behalf of its clients including fencing, lighting and electrical
and decking.
Established in 1984, Nightfreight offers four main delivery
channels as either stand alone services or multi configurable
options including single parcel express and non-standard freight,
two-man shared user home delivery nationwide, a specialist
warehousing, handling and installation 'white glove' service and
dedicated logistics.
