A senior member of a commercial property agency in
Wellingborough will be helping to promote Northamptonshire as the
ideal place to live, work, invest and visit having been appointed
as an Ambassador for the County.
Prop-search Director, Simon Toseland joins more than 100 other
business leaders, entrepreneurs and figure-heads on the
Northamptonshire Enterprise Limited (NEL) Ambassador programme, to
champion the county throughout the UK and abroad. The Ambassador
programme was established to bring people who are passionate about
the county together, to enable them to share their knowledge and
expertise, and help promote Northamptonshire.
Commenting on this prestigious appointment, Simon Toseland said:
"Northamptonshire's commercial and economic strength lies in its
central location within the UK and the diversity of businesses
based in the county. This mix offers businesses and investors
stability, reducing the risks associated with large dominant
employers and as such, Northamptonshire remains a place in which to
invest and grow."
Ambassador Manager, Julia Schumacher added: "We are delighted to
welcome Simon to the group and look forward to working with him and
prop-search in the future."
"We have some very inspirational individuals within
Northamptonshire who we are incredibly proud of where they live and
work, and have a desire to be part of the future growth of the
county. The Ambassadors really do make a difference - they are the
voice of the county and it is their role to help shape the future
of Northamptonshire."
Ambassadors meet regularly and take turns to host briefings
where they can pass on their area of expertise to others in a bid
to promote the different industries when speaking about the county
through their extensive networks. Ambassadors also act in an
advisory role, supporting other businesses, assisting with local
policies and strategies, as well as serving as spokespersons for
the county.
During his 25 year career within the commercial property
industry, Simon has played a pivotal role in securing inward
investment through new developments within the county including
Crown Business Park at Rushden, Castlefields Retail Park in
Wellingborough, and the Odeon cinema complex at Kettering, as well
as transacting millions of sq ft of industrial/warehousing
accommodation throughout Northamptonshire. Simon also chairs
the Wellingborough Town Centre Partnership which has successfully
secured a BID (Business Improvement District) for the
town.
