The wait for a commercially viable electric car is over -
according to vehicle leasing company Autoplan.
The Midlands-based company is keen to highlight the big savings
available to businesses by leasing the revolutionary Nissan Leaf,
which has been named Car of the Year 2011.
As a mass-produced electric car, the Nissan Leaf has zero
emissions. Besides these obvious environmental benefits, the Nissan
Leaf also offers considerable savings with no road tax and no
employee tax.
It has no PAYE cost as a company car and 100% tax relief on the
rental cost to the employer with no class one National Insurance
Contributions.
Also, as the cost of fuel is now at a record high - with diesel
prices hitting approximately £5.90 per gallon, including
£4.13 of tax - this has helped make the Nissan Leaf become
one of the most desirable company cars on the lease market.
The Nissan Leaf means your company can now go green and wave
goodbye to the petrol station. While after the tax savings and a
£5,000 grant from the Government, the Nissan Leaf offers
value for money and allows drivers to avoid the average £87
cost of filling up at the petrol station.
Autoplan, based on Kenilworth Road, Meriden, is offering the
Nissan Leaf, as one of its many leasing options for companies, for
contract hire starting at £360, including three years
servicing.
Autoplan are so confident in the technology behind the Nissan
Leaf, they will cover the cost of all the servicing bills during
the term, leaving the customer 'worry free.'
Andy Gibbins, Autoplan Managing Director, said the benefit of
owning a Nissan Leaf meant customers could dodge the ever-rising
cost of fuel:
"Even if you did 1,000 miles a month, in a car that was doing 40
to the gallon, that's 25 gallons of diesel. Today's average pump
price of £1.31 per litre means that's £147.37 per month
saving on fuel - and rising, with each hike in fuel price we
get.
"Suddenly the cost of leasing a Nissan Leaf is £360 less a
fuel saving of £147 along with zero emissions, zero car tax
and no servicing costs."
Autoplan has been offering a full range of car leasing, contract
hire and van leasing since 1993 and it has recently introduce
short-term car leasing of three, six and 12 months.
