Midland lawyers help to save 64 jobs

A Midland law firm has acted on a deal which saved 64 jobs at one of the UK's leading supplier of print consumables.

Belgian digital printing company Agfa has acquired Litho Supplies UK from corporate restructuring experts, Valco Capital Partners and Wright Hassall was lead advisor to Valco on this transaction.

The sale will ensure the future success of Litho - a former FTSE 100 company - and has allowed every staff member at the firm's Breaston base in Derbyshire to hold on to their jobs.

This agreement follows the management buy-out of Litho in December 2009 - also acted on by Wright Hassall.

This is the latest in a string of success stories starring Wright Hassall's prolific corporate team - including the multi-million euro disposal of international fishing firm Zebco Sports Europe and acquisition of Always Group.

And Robert Lee, who leads the corporate team, is delighted to have completed on such an important deal.

"It is great that we have been able to play a part in saving so many jobs," he said.

"Not only does this deal also show how much good work our corporate team is doing at the moment but it represents a rise in the level of corporate activity being completed by businesses in Coventry and Warwickshire, as well as right across the Midlands.

"Litho will trade as a separate entity from the parent company and will continue to offer its portfolio of products and systems from a broad range of suppliers."
