Tamworth accountancy firm, Baldwins, has hired new Partner, Ed Hill, to advise local SME's on how to raise finance and manage cash flow problems. Although common concerns for many businesses, Ed expects his knowledge of the regional markets will make an essential difference to businesses in the area.

Ed believes that SME's are the powerhouse of the economy and owner-managed businesses need the utmost support if they are to pull the country out of the current economic situation.

"The Tamworth economy has its foundations in the owner-managed SME sector. Many businesses are now facing challenging situations and some face uncertain futures. Guiding those companies through the ever increasing burden of red tape and compliance is critical to helping this country recover. I understand the micro-economy of the region and believe if we work together to improve profitability, we can increase the chances of a brighter future and job security for many local businesses.

"Contrary to popular belief, raising finance is still achievable as long as business prospects are good. We can work with businesses to help them put together the best proposition for investors while assisting with cash flow projections designed to exhibit a positive light."

Ed has almost 20 years experience dealing with local SME's and looks forward to working closely with other Baldwins partners specialising in corporate finance, tax and banking advice to provide a comprehensive support and advisory service for local firms.

Ed continues: "Baldwins' head office is in Tamworth and so the firm has a natural affinity to the area. Being located close-by means clients have the added advantage of not having to travel into city centres but have solid business support on hand for when it's needed most. The great thing about Baldwins is that it has local offices around the Midlands which each understand the real issues affecting people and businesses in the immediate area."

David Baldwin said: "Ed has a passion for the industry and will prove an invaluable asset to local firms looking to strengthen their position in the marketplace. Ed's enthusiasm, optimism and commitment to helping clients are second to none and we're delighted to have him on board."
