Professionals donning aprons for cookery classes is proving a
new hit on the corporate events calendar.
The brainchild of business rescue and recovery group Leonard
Curtis, eight enthusiasts were recently given an insight into the
art of Indian cuisine during an afternoon at Birmingham's
award-winning Asha's Restaurant.
Emma Storry and Shaun Tanner had the aprons on for Leonard
Curtis and invited along were a team from law firm Martineau - John
Nicholson, Tim Speed, Sam Payne, Debbie Beet, Marie-Therese Harper
and Steve Thorn.
All were given the task of preparing dishes - under the watchful
eye of head chef Guneet Singh and his colleagues in the
kitchen.
Ms Storry said Leonard Curtis was looking to make the event "a
monthly adventure" where they could entertain clients.
And, she added, it was proving popular. "It's the third time we
have put it on and everyone is very enthusiastic."
The budding curry cooks were listening and learning.
"We are taking it extremely seriously," quipped Mr Tanner as he
fired up his pan.
But in truth they were.
Mr Payne added: "It has been really enjoyable and I have learned
a lot. Hopefully I will be able to serve up a much improved curry
at home."
And all had the opportunity to try their wares afterwards.
Mr Singh noted: "It was a pleasure to have so many keen cooks in
the kitchen.
"Hopefully they have managed to pick up a few tips."
