Twenty members of staff from Alsters Kelley Solicitors will be
participating in the annual Warwick Boat Race again to raise vital
funds for a Coventry-based baby hospice after huge success last
year.
The 'AK Oar Stars' team, comprised of staff from Coventry,
Leamington Spa and Nuneaton offices, will compete in the
competitive Chinese-style boat race on 22nd May at St Nicholas
Park, Warwick.
Last year, £2800 was raised towards the build of the new
Zoe's Place baby hospice, based in Exhall, Coventry. This year,
Alsters Kelley aim to raise money to help cover the costs of
furnishings and equipment , before the official
opening.
Fundraiser at Zoe's Place Trust, Helen Fairhurst, said: 'We are
thrilled that Alsters Kelley Solicitors have chosen to support
Zoe's Place again.
'Funds raised will be used to pay for specialist seating. The
'P' Pod is a beanbag with a moulded seat, which provides supportive
seating for infants with poor or no muscle control. Each chair
costs in the region of £400.
'Alsters Kelley Solicitors have support Zoe's Place for a number
of years and to date, the team have raised a fantastic
£6535.49 for the hospice. We wish them the best of luck for
their 2011 fundraising efforts'.
Neil Raiseborough, Partner at Alsters Kelley and team member
said: 'We are excited not only to be participating in the race
again, but to raise as much money as we can for Zoe's Place as they
expand to support more babies and children with life-limiting
illnesses in our region.
'It is also a great opportunity for staff to get together and do
something fun. Hopefully this year will be sunny and we will
win!'
